Condor returns to Namibia - Discover increases capacity

June 24, 2026

The German leisure airline Condor will reinstate its Frankfurt - Windhoek route to its long-haul network in one year. Starting at the end of June 2027, the planes with the distinctive striped sock design will take off three times a week for Namibia.

Outbound flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, according to the news release on the Condor website. Condor will fly back from Windhoek to Frankfurt on the following day, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flights are already bookable (see Condor website).

An Airbus A330neo is used for this route. The long-haul aircraft has 310 seats (see Condor's fleet description). There are 216 seats in Economy Class, 64 in Premium Economy Class and 30 in Business Class.

"Namibia has long been one of the most sought-after long-haul destinations for German holidaymakers," said Condor CEO Peter Gerber. "With this direct connection and our modern Airbus A330neo fleet, we are creating an attractive offering for both leisure travelers and tour operators."

Condor had previously served Namibia from November 2014 to 2021. Travel restrictions due to the global Covid-19 crisis forced the leisure and city airline to discontinue the service.

Discover Airlines: More Flights from Munich

Starting in April 2027, Discover Airlines will increase the number of its weekly flights from Munich to Windhoek from three to five (see press release). With these two additional year-round connections, the Lufthansa subsidiary is responding to the continued high demand for Namibia.

Discover operates Airbus A330-300 aircraft. From 2027, these will be gradually equipped with the new 'Ocean Blue' cabin (see report on Namibian.org).

In addition, there are seven flights per week from Frankfurt to Windhoek (see Discover Airlines' website). Flights depart daily from Frankfurt, and from Munich, starting April 2027, every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

At the beginning of June, sister airline Edelweiss launched its Zurich - Windhoek service (see report on Namibian.org). From mid-July to the end of October, during Namibia's peak season, Edelweiss operates the route three times a week.
