Namibia scraps all Corona entry requirements

By Admin
August 06, 2025

Anyone travelling to Namibia does not need to present proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test on arrival. This was stated yesterday by Health Minister Kalumbi Shangula in his weekly briefing on the Corona situation in Namibia.

These requirements "have been scrapped", says the written version of his statement. No date is given. Therefore, the travel industry is waiting for the official publication of the amended regulations in the Government Gazette.

43 registered COVID cases across Namibia

Due to the current "epidemiological situation" in Namibia, Shangula stated, these requirements are no longer necessary. In conclusion, he said this was his last weekly briefing on the Corona situation.

Earlier, Shangula had presented last week's figures on tests, infections and COVID-19 patients in hospitals.

Number of tests: 1,308.

Positive: 28.

Total number of infected recorded: 43.

Number of infected being hospitalised: 7.

In intensive care: 0.

The current status of the COVID-19 situation can be found on portals such as Johns Hopkins University.

Namibia trip almost like before Corona

Many countries cancelled their Corona-related entry regulations in the past months. Thus, travelling to Namibia is almost as normal as before the Corona pandemic. The only thing that still needs to be taken into account is the requirement to wear a mask on planes.

Speaking of planes: Currently there are ten direct flights per week from Frankfurt to Windhoek by the Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings Discover. In addition, there are five weekly connections by Ethiopean Airlines with a stopover in Addis Ababa and three by Qatar Airways via Doha. You can also get to Namibia via Johannesburg.
