Reassuring news for travellers to Namibia: Travelling in the land of endless horizons is as safe as in many European countries. This is according to the Travel Risk Map published by the organisation International SOS.

Namibia appears in yellow on the map. According to the legend, this indicates a low safety risk. This category is characterised by a low rate of violent crime. There are efficient security and emergency services and a solid infrastructure. Labour disputes and traffic disruptions are rare.

Botswana, Zambia and Malawi fall into the same category, as do Australia and European countries such as Germany and France. South Africa, on the other hand, is orange-brown. According to International SOS, travellers there are exposed to a medium risk.

International SOS certifies that Namibia has a similarly low safety risk for travellers as Australia.

In terms of medical care, International SOS categorises Namibia in the midfield. Infectious diseases such as malaria can occur in countries in this category. However, there are reliable emergency services. High-quality medical care is also available.

The International SOS Group offers risk management services to internationally operating companies and organisations. According to its own information, it relies on around 13,000 experts worldwide and is represented in 90 countries.
