Namibia among safest travel destinations - also in 2026

Holidaymakers can feel just as safe in Namibia next year as in France, Sweden, the USA, or Argentina. This is the conclusion of the latest global risk analysis by Safeture and Riskline, confirming previous assessments by other companies in the industry.

Safeture and Riskline released a 'Risk Map' for 2026 in the middle of the month. Namibia appears in light green on the map – as do most European countries. According to the key, light green signifies 'low risk'. Only a handful of countries, including Germany, Canada, and Australia, are considered safer.

Security experts of Safeture and Riskline assess how easy or difficult it is to travel. The crime rate also factors into the assessment, as indicated by a list of the safest and least safe cities. Naturally, health risks are also taken into account.

The safety assessment company International SOS had already classified Namibia as a low-risk country last year and this year (see Namibian.org article). This category includes countries with a low rate of violent crime, efficient security and emergency services as well as a good infrastructure.
