As part of the '140 Years, 140 Places' anniversary tour, three Mercedes-Benz S-Class cars travel over 50,000 kilometres across six continents. They visit 140 selected locations and tell stories about mobility, people, places and progress along the way.
Namibia's inclusion in the tour is also thanks to an initiative by the Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) (see NTB website). Namibian partners in the campaign are the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and M&Z Motors Namibia. M&Z is simultaneously celebrating its 120th anniversary and the 90th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz in Namibia.
The tour through Namibia begins tomorrow, 22 August. For six days, until 27 August, Mercedes-Benz will explore the country's diverse culture. Among the tourist destinations visited are the Zambezi Region and the Fish River Canyon. The highlight of the trip is a major anniversary event in Windhoek.
The '140 Years, 140 Places' tour is an effective international platform for the NTB (Namibia Tourism Board). It showcases Namibia as a travel destination offering extraordinary experiences, diverse opportunities, and warm hospitality. Investors and businesspeople worldwide are also likely to take notice of Namibia as a business location.
The campaign features a competition on-site. Look out for the Mercedes convoy along the route from Ngoma to Divundu, Windhoek, and Grünau. Anyone who uploads a photo or video with the tag to Facebook or Instagram will be entered into a prize draw.
