Introduction: The Damara Thread snake (Leptotyphlops labialis) is a large, but still fairly slender species that prefers an arid savannah type habitat.

Distribution: Swakopmund, Spitzkoppe, Brandberg, Etosha Park and the north of Namibia including Damaraland and Kaokoland.

Diet: Fleas, ants and termites.

Colouring: The back is a uniform grey-brown to brown colour above and paler below. The 12 scales are pale-edged.

Breeding: Females lay between 1 and 7 elongated eggs.

Size: Max SVL 260mm.
