Angolan Garter snakes are medium-sized, slow-moving and uncommon.

Introduction: Angolan Garter snakes (Elapsoidea semiannulata) are medium-sized snakes, slow-moving and uncommon. They have a varied habitat requirement, except for very dry areas.

Distribution: Northern Namibia including Etosha National Park extending from Ruacana Falls eastwards all the way along the Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) to Victoria Falls.

Diet: Skinks, geckos, frogs and the occasional small snakes.

Colouring: Brightly banded with a white head and black back. The belly is white.

Breeding: Females lay up to 10 small eggs.

Size: Max SVL male 532mm, female 467mm.
