The Angolan banded thick-toed gecko has a flattened body and short, strong limbs.

Introduction: The Angolan banded thick-toed gecko (Pachydactylus capensis) has a flattened body and short, strong limbs. The tail is cylindrical and slightly longer than the body. They prefer rocky areas sheltering in cracks on the undersides of boulders.

Distribution: The far north-western reaches of Kaokoland.

Diet: Small insects.

Colouring: A purple-brown body above and a plain white body.

Breeding: Females lay clutches of 2 eggs in sandy soils in summer.

Size: SVL 40 to 50mm. Max SVL 56mm.
