Introduction: Angolan Reed frogs (Hyperolius parallelus) typically inhabit rivers and streams in savannahs. The brief chirp of the male call can be heard from the early evening onwards, which resembles the sound of 'tinkling beer glasses'.

Distribution: From Epupa Falls along the Kunene and Kavango Rivers along the Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) to Victoria Falls. Also found in the Okavango Delta.

Diet: Aquatic insects.

Colouration: A black or cream background sports bold brown or red worm-shaped markings. The underside is white.

Breeding: Breeds in deep water bodies. Tadpoles reach 65mm.

Maximum size: 35mm.
