White codon can grow to a height of some 1.5m.

White codon

Common in the central Namib, Northern Cape and southern Namibia is white cordon (Codon royenii). It can grow to a height of some 1.5m and is an unusually large, compact multi-seasonal. It adapts well to dry conditions and the plant has an attractive, large, cream-coloured flowers, unlike every other part of the plant which is notably spiny.

Drainage lines, disturbed areas, rocky habitats and riverbeds are common areas that white cordon has been recorded in and around. There are 2 species of Codon in Namibia, a multi-seasonal herb.
