Aloe namibensis

A. namibensis plants are very rare and endemic to Namibia. A habitat of rocky or broken hilly terrain has been established, but only in locations of between 1,000m and 1,200m above sea level, not far from Spitzkoppe. The only other recorded sighting has been in calcrete-covered plain south of the Swakop River. Their leaves are a light grey/green/white once the rains have commenced but during the drier months their large leaves sport more of a tinted red colour, blooming for around 5 weeks.

Flowering times are between December and February, although the Swakop River plants flowered at the end of August. Leathery leaves point upwards as with A. asperiflora, A. pachygaster and A. claviflora. Single plants are more common than clusters.
