Introduction: Male Voyaging Gliders (Tramea limbata) can remain airborne for long periods, hence the common name. A dark red body pattern and thin brown wing base is a unique sight in flight.

Distribution: Kamanjab and Katima Mulilo boast the only recordings of Voyaging Glider.

Colouration: Dark red bodies, broad wings with a narrow brown band (limbata) at the base of the hindwing.

Breeding: Eggs are deposited on algae mats in open, unshaded waters on some Indian Ocean Islands.

Flight season: November and April.

Conservation: Not threatened.
