Introduction: A key identification feature of the Angolan Whisp (Agriocnemis angolensis) is the finger-like upper appendages being directly longer than the lower ones. They inhabit grassy and swampy fringes of rivers and were first recorded from southern Angola.

Distribution: Kwando and Kavango River regions including Bwabwata National Park.

Colouration: The dorsum of the male's abdomen is pale blue with broad black or red markings.

Breeding: Birds and ants are a danger from emergence.

Flight season: From September to April.

Conservation: Not threatened.
