Introduction: Scarlet Acraeas (Acraea) atolmis) are low fliers for an Acraea, often on the move for some time after being disturbed. They inhabit savannah regions of the country.

Distribution: From Victoria Falls east through the Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) to Rundu , the Kavango River and Owamboland.

Larval food: Not confirmed.

Colouration: Dry season males are a striking brick-red colour and the females vary from brownish-red to dark brown.

On the wing: Throughout the year.

Wingspan: Approx 50mm.
