Ella s bar

Introduction: Ella's Bar (S. ella) inhabit thorn or savannah regions. Koppies are a favoured midday playtime location. Darting out from a perch on a tree in pursuit of invaders is common.

Distribution: Widespread in Namibia.

Breeding/Larval food: Various species of sour plum (Ximenia spp).

Colouration: Light-brownish underside ground colour. Distinctive triangular patch on the upperside of the forewing.

On the wing: Throughout the year.

Wingspan: 30mm.
