Distribution: The chubbyhead barb is distributed in various river systems and streams across southern Africa, and it can be found in certain waterways in Namibia.

Diet: The chubbyhead barb is omnivorous and feeds on a varied diet that includes aquatic insects, small crustaceans, algae, and plant matter.

colouration: The chubbyhead barb has a slender body with a silver to olive-green colouration. It features a black stripe along its mid-lateral line, and its snout has a distinctive moustache-like appearance.

Breeding: Breeding behaviour of chubbyhead barbs includes scattering adhesive eggs among plants or substrate. The eggs are left to hatch, and the fry are relatively independent once they emerge.
