Introduction: The habitat range for the red-capped robin-chat (Cossypha natalensis) extends from evergreen forest and woodland to gardens with impressive shrubberies. General behaviour includes bathing regularly in bird baths and puddles.

Distribution: Selected locations on the Caprivi Strip including the Kwando River and some sections of Bwabwata National Park.
Diet: Eats beetles, moths and caterpillars, ants, millipedes and centipedes, spiders, crickets and bugs. Also eats fruits.

Description: Cinnamon-rufous to brown crown, orange face. Greyish brown back and an orange tail and underparts.
Breeding: From 2 to 4 eggs are laid from September to January in an open cup nest made from dead leaves, twigs and a variety of other plant matter.

Size: 18cm.

Weight: 32g.
