Introduction: Mottramite was first discovered near Mottram St. Andrew in England and is a lead-copper vanadate. Its small crystals are usually black, dark olive-green or dark grey and tend to aggregate to form botryoidal masses.

Distribution: The Otavi Mountains and the Tsumeb Mine

Composition: Vanadate

Crystal system: Orthorhombic

Lustre: Vitreous, greasy

Streak: Yellow

Hardness: 3-3.5
