Fun Fact: Jeremejevite is an extremely rare gemstone.

Introduction: Jeremejevite was first discovered by a Russian mineralogist and engineer, Pavel Vladomirovich Jeremejev. It is an extremely rare gemstone and those specimens discovered in Namibia are considered to be exceptional. Striking, prismatic blue crystals are often formed.

Distribution: First discovered in Namibia at Mile 72 north of Swakopmund. Spectacular specimens were also found at the Erongo Mountains in 2001.

Crystal system: Hexagonal

Lustre: Vitreous

Streak: White

Hardness: 7.5
