Distribution: Kaololand, Damaraland, Swakopmund and south to the Orange River including Fish River Canyon.
Diet: Fleas, ants, termites
Colouring: The body is light grey-brown to purple brown, paler below. Pale-edged scales allow for a chequered effect.
Breeding: Females lay around 4 very small eggs.
Size: Max SVL 264mm.
