Fun Fact: No fatalities have been recorded from a Sundevall's Garter snake bite.

Introduction: Symptoms of a bite from Sundevall's Garter snake (Elapsoidea sunderwallii) include pain, swelling, nausea, blurred vision and loss of consciousness. No fatalities have been recorded.

Distribution: Central Namibia including Erongo and Brandberg Mountains and Windhoek.

Diet: Snakes, lizards and their eggs, rain frogs, moles and rodents.

Colouring: A slate grey to black body with pale bands.

Breeding: Females lay up to 10 small eggs.

Size: Max SVL male 930mm, female 650mm.
