Fun Fact: They rummage and burrow in soil around the base of trees.

Introduction: A subspecies of Percival's Legless skinks (Acontias percivali occidentalis) can be found in Namibia. They rummage and burrow in soil around the base of trees, particularly in loose leaf litter.

Distribution: From Windhoek east through the Kalahari Desert and north from the capital extending to the western regions of Etosha National Park.

Diet: Dead logs are a favourite haunt to find food such as grubs and earthworms.

Colouring: Olive to grey-brown body, occasionally black.

Breeding: A single brood of 1 to 3 babies is born in summer.

Size: Max SVL male 239mm, female 257mm.
