Fun Fact: Bi-Coloured Quill-Snouted snakes are a subspecies that live in deep sand.

Introduction: The Namibian version of the Bi-Coloured Quill-Snouted snakes is a subspecies (Xenocalamus bicolour) that live in deep sand.

Distribution: Central and northern Namibia from Windhoek and Swakopmund, Etosha National Park and the central Kalahari.

Diet: Lizards.

Colouring: 4 colour phases include striped, spotted, reticulated and melanistic.

Breeding: Females usually lay 3 or 4 elongated eggs in December.

Size: Max SVL male 590mm, female 680mm.
