Fun Fact: Their preferred habitat is more woodland on sandy soils.

Introduction: Black Round-Headed worm lizard (Zygaspis nigra) are similar in behaviour and habits to the Kalahari round-headed worm lizard. Their preferred habitat is more woodland on sandy soils in line with their distribution range.

Distribution: Eastern Caprivi Strip.

Diet: Termites are their favourite amongst smaller insects and their larvae.

Colouring: The back is ivory. A speckled effect is caused by each scale having a black base. The chin is also ivory coloured.

Breeding: Females lay 3 or 4 elongated eggs in the summer months.

Size: Max SVL 280mm.
