Introduction: Anchieta's agama (Agama anchietae) is a small lizard with a broad head and short, rounded snout. The tail is half the length of the body and head. This species has similar behavioural patterns to the southern spiny agama.
Distribution: Southern Namibia including the Orange River extending into Fish River Canyon spreading northwards to the central highlands as far north as the northern town of Opuwo and Epupa Falls.
Diet: Ants, termites, beetles and grasshoppers.
Colouring: Pinkish-brown upper body with reddish-brown flanks and a white belly.
Breeding: Females lay between 10 to 12 soft-shelled eggs.
Size: SVL 60 to 80mm. Max SVL 90mm.
