Fun Fact: The Kalahari ground gecko is a small, attractive gecko with a slender body.

Introduction: The Kalahari ground gecko (Colopus wahlbergii) is a small, attractive gecko with a slender body and overlapping granular scales on the back. It prefers flat sandy plains with scattered vegetation. Predators include snakes, small carnivores and owls.

Distribution: Some Kalahari regions of northern Namibia, the Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip), the Okavango Delta and Victoria Falls.

Diet: Small insects, termites and grasshoppers.

Colouring: The back is light orange to brown and the belly is a 'chalky white'.

Breeding: Females lay 2 hard-shelled eggs.

Size: SVL 45 to 50mm. Max SVL 52mm.
