Introduction: Another large dwarf gecko similar to the Cape dwarf gecko is the the Chobe dwarf gecko (Lygodactylus chobiensis). They forage in high trees often such as acacia, baobab and mopane in regions associated with moist savannah. They also live occasionally in houses.
Distribution: The Okavango basin extending along the Caprivi Strip and Bwabwata National Park.
Diet: Ants and termites.
Colouring: A blue-grey back with large pale dorsal spots extending on the head and neck. The belly is yellow.
Breeding: Females lay 2 hard-shelled eggs under bark or in disused termite mounds. Breeding is continuous with clutches laid at 7 to 8 week intervals. Incubation periods are around 125 days.
Size: SVL 30 to 35mm. Max SVL 42mm.
