Fun Fact: Spotted Rubber frog are often confused with the banded rubber frog.

Introduction: Spotted Rubber frog (Phrynomantis affinis) are often confused with the banded rubber frog (affinis is Latin for neighbouring). Sandy ground in rocky country in dry savannah is their preferred habitat. Features include a flattened, elongated body and a snout that extends over the mouth.

Distribution: Kavango region including along the river of the same name, extending south to Grootfontein and into Kaudom Game Park and into the Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) as far as Victoria Falls.

Diet: Earthworms, spiders and aquatic insects.

Colouration: Small orange or red spots decorate a dark back.

Breeding: Tadpoles develop a broad and deep body with convex, tapering tail.

Maximum size: 65mm.
