Knocking sand frog

Introduction: Knocking Sand frogs (Tomopterna krugerensis) occur in a variety of habitats in regions dominated by savannah. They are named after the Kruger National Park, where they were first recorded.

Distribution: North-central and north-eastern Namibia including Etosha National Park, Epupa Falls, Ruacana Falls and much of the Kavango region.

Diet: Spiders and insects.

Colouration: Upperparts are cream to light brown with dark-edged blotches.

Breeding: Breeds in temporary rain pools and pans.

Maximum size: 50mm.
