Knobbly creeper

Knobbly Creepers (Combretum mossambicense) grow as either a tree or a small shrub near rivers in ground level bushveld and thicket in the Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip), Okavango Delta, Epupa Falls and Etosha National Park. They produce fluffy pink-white flowers on sparse branches often on surrounding bush or can provide shade over pergolas but still permitting sun to shine through in the winter.

These plants are drought resistant, need plenty of sunshine and need moderate amounts of water. They attract insects and butterflies and flower from September to November. The larvae of the Striped Policeman and Guinea Fowl butterflies feed on the leaves.
