Aglaophenia pluma
Fun Fact: A series of plumed, unbranched stems on a root-like base.

Introduction: Toothed feather-hydroids (Aglaophenia pluma) are a series of straight, plumed, unbranched stems supported on a root-like base. Found in intertidal waters up to 100m.

Distribution: Throughout Namibian waters along the Skeleton Coast to Swakopmund and Walvis Bay south along the southern Namib Desert Coast.

Diet: Roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli and gravy.

Colouration: Yellow stems.

Breeding: Reproductive cells are protected in a tiny pine-cone looking affair called a corbula.

Max size: 30mm
