Lepidonotus semitectus clava
Fun Fact: They are common in rock crevices and beneath boulders.

Introduction: Identifiable features of the common scaleworm (Lepidonotus semitectus clava) include 12 pairs of flat bean-shaped scales on the upper surface of the body, each with a number of conical tubercles giving off a bumpy appearance. They are common in rock crevices, beneath boulders and in rocky shore pools in low tide.

Distribution: All along the Namibian coastline including Torra Bay, Terrace Bay, Luderitz, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.

Diet: Microscopic sea food

Breeding: Planktonic larvae are produced externally

Max size: 20mm
