Fun Fact: Very little is known about this tiny mouse.

Introduction: The little-known Setzer's pygmy mouse's (Mus setzeri) was named after Dr. H.W. Setzer, a former curator of mammals at the United States Natural History Museum in Washington D.C. There are no recordings of this mouse’s habits, diet or reproduction patterns, other than it has a wide habitat tolerance, occurring on the fringes of pans. It is also smaller than the desert pygmy mouse and has a shorter tail.

Distribution: Kaudom Game Park and Tsumkwe regions.

Colouring: Pinkish-grey upperparts with a white belly. The upper surfaces of the feet are white.

Size: Head and body length 56mm. Tail 36mm.

Weight: Between 5 and 9g.
