Bunodosoma capensis
Fun Fact: Knobbly Anemones are abundant in sand-free areas.

Introduction: Knobbly anemones (Bunodosoma capensis) can be identified by the small non-adhesive knobs (papillae) on the column. There are spherules present on the column head. Abundant in sand-free areas, often found attached to mussels or red-bait.

Distribution: Orange River mouth and lower coastal Namib Desert.

Colouration: Papillae contrast with a background column colour of either white, pink, orange, red, purple or blue. Tentacles are green.

Breeding: Either sexual/body division

Max size: 20 to 40mm diametre
