Fun Fact: Opistophthalmus holmi are known as sand specialists, excavating burrows in denser vegetated sand dunes.

Introduction: Opistophthalmus holmi are known as sand specialists, excavating burrows in denser vegetated sand dunes.
Distribution: Central and southern regions of the Namib Desert dune systems. Also found in Fish River Canyon, Luderitz, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay areas.
Diet: Ambushes prey from under vegetation.
Colouration: Sandy colouration makes it difficult to observe other than with a UV light at night.
Breeding: Females usually stay in their burrows whilst the male wanders around on the lookout. Females produce litters of over 20.
Maximum size: 60mm.
