Introduction: Quarre's Fingertails (Gomphidia quarrei) were named after Pierre Quarre, a Belgian botanist, who collected the first specimens in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is a riverine species, usually observed perching on low vegetation, facing the water.
Distribution: All along the Kavango and Kwando Rivers including Rundu and Popa Falls.
Colouration: Contrasting black and yellow marking with blue eyes.
Breeding: Oviposition takes place between reeds.
Flight season: In the rainy season in November, December and February.
Max size: 70mm.
Conservation: Not threatened.
