Introduction: Massai Sprites (Pseudagrion massaicum) typically inhabit well-vegetated lakes, reservoirs, swimming pools and artificial waterholes. Massai Sprites take their name from the nomadic Massai tribe who live in Tanzania/Kenya region around Mount Kilimanjaro.
Distribution: Widespread in central Namibia, Windhoek, Damaraland and some scattered locations in the south including the Fish River.
Colouration: Coral-red eyes and a blue and green abdomen sporting broad black markings.
Breeding: Males defend territorial space in the quest for female company.
Flight season: October to July.
Conservation: Not threatened.
