Fun Fact: The Little Whisp is a rather lean and slender creature, hence the Latin name exiles.

Introduction: The Little Whisp (Agriocnemis exilis) is a rather lean and slender creature, hence the Latin name exiles. They inhabit swamps and perennial streams as well as temporary waters.

Distribution: Common along the Kavango, Kwando and Chobe Rivers, Etosha National Park, Windhoek and south to the Tiras Mountains.

Colouration: Orange-red abdomen or black in mature males, orange-red in immature males.

Breeding: Emergence from the old skin until aerial life begins lasts from 20mins up to several hours.

Flight season: Throughout the year.

Conservation: Not threatened.
