Introduction: Inspectors (Chalcostephia flavifrons) inhabit swamps, perching in the shade of branches of trees for most of the time. The Latin flavifrons means 'with a yellow front' referring to the yellow face.

Distribution: Kwando and lower Kavango Rivers.

Colouration: Black abdomen with greenish-yellow spots, pale centred pterostigma, green metallic frons/yellow face.

Breeding: Females spend much of their time away from the water in search of insects, only approaching to mate.

Flight season: Rainy season.

Conservation: Not threatened.
