Introduction: Darting Cruisers (Phyllomacromia picta) hunt in forest gaps and in shrubland. They are a riverine species that roosts in a hanging position and perches on twigs horizontally.

Distribution: Kavango, Kwando and Chobe Rivers, Oanab Dam and the Orange River.

Colouration: Black and yellow rings on the abdomen with 3 yellow stripes decorating the sides of the thorax, metallic green eyes.

Breeding: Breeds in lakes.

Flight season: The rainy season.

Max size: 60mm.

Conservation: Not threatened.
