Introduction: Corkscrew Hooktails (Paragomphus elpidius) occur around large open oxbow, floodplain, lakes and along large, slow-moving rivers.

Distribution: Epupa Falls, Kunene River, Ruacana Falls, Rundu, Kavango River, Kwando and Zambezi Rivers.

Colouration: Bright green thorax with dark brown markings, yellow with dark brown abdomen and a dark brown pterostigma.

Breeding: Larvae habit sandy patches in rapids.

Flight season: Throughout most of the year.

Max size: 60mm.

Conservation: Not threatened.
