Introduction: Brown Dust-hawkers (Gynacantha villosa) have a thick, haired thorax, from the Latin villosus 'hairy or shaggy'. They inhabit forests and are a crepuscular species.

Distribution: Chobe River rapids near Impalila Island.

Colouration: Hairy!

Breeding: Females breed in stagnant seasonal swamps and pools in bush or thick forest.

Flight season: Not known.

Max size: Abdomen and hindwing at least 50mm.

Conservation: Not threatened.
