Introduction: Shona Hoppers (Platylesches shona) inhabit shrubs and trees. They settle low down on these plants, the late afternoon being the best time to observe or catch them. Favourite twigs and leaves are re-visited repeatedly, often after they have fought off intruders.

Distribution: Kavango River region.

Breeding/Larval: Not confirmed.

Colouration: The violet-brown undersides on the hindwing are decorated with small white spots.

On the wing: March to May and from July to October.

Wingspan: Approx 30mm.
