Nepheronia buquetii buquetii
Fun Fact: Buquet's Vagrant inhabit scrub and woodland.

Introduction: Buquet's Vagrant (Nepheronia buquetii buquetii) inhabit scrub and woodland.

Distribution: Central Namibia, Windhoek, Okahandja, Erongo Mountains and north of Opuwo.

Breeding/Larval: Eggs are laid on the leaves of the four-thorns (Azima tetracantha) also known as the bee-sting bush, a shiny shrub. Their flowers are greenish to yellow.

Colouration: Males are white above with a narrow black border. Females are similar to males but with lighter brown forewing markings. Known to collectors as the 'green-eyed monster' a reference to their its eyes and proboscis which are tinge with green.

On the wing: Throughout the year, depending on conditions.

Wingspan: Males and female: 45 to 50mm.
