Sedge warbler

Introduction: Sedge warblers (Acrocephalus schoenobaenus) are primarily reed-dwellers in mainly perennial and ephemeral wetlands with growing aquatic vegetation. They are most common in long grass and thickets, as well as papyrus, elephant grass, reeds and sedges.

Distribution: Locally common and abundant in Epupa Falls, Etosha National Park, Chobe/Zambezi River systems and scattered populations in central Namibia.
Diet: Searches on the ground or from the surface of water for ants, spiders and small berries.

Description: Upper parts dark olive-brown. Throat, belly and breast off-white.
Breeding: Extralimital.

Size: 12cm.

Weight: 11g.
