Introduction: Pink-billed larks (Spizocorys conirostris) can be found in the Kalahari dunes that sport dense grass cover as well as regions consistent with open, short grassland. Groups of over 20 are common.
Distribution: Patchy populations in north Namibia, most notably in and around Etosha National Park and in the south between Mariental and Keetmanshoop.
Diet: Eats grass seeds and invertebrates, picked from the soil.
Description: A small lark with a cone bill (conirostris).
Breeding: A nest consists of a cup of dry grass and rootlets, lined with hair and at times built on a platform of sticks. From 1 to 3 eggs are laid during April to July and incubated for around 12 days.
Size: 12cm.
Weight: 14g.
