Introduction: Sooty falcons (Falco eleonorae) perch and forage in groups of up to 10. They have been recorded in a dry, savannah type habitat.
Distribution: A few isolated recordings in Etosha National Park and other central and northern Namibia locations from mid November to mid April.
Diet: Hunts from high or from the perch for bats and small birds
Description: Predominately uniform pale to dark slate grey above and below. Their long wings reach wedge-shaped tail tip when resting.
Breeding: Extralimital.
Size: 35cm.
Weight: 210g.
