Introduction: White-bellied storm-petrels (Fregetta grallaria) seldom leave their preferred habitat of the oceanic waters near the continental shelf. Description: Fairly large seabird with short toes and 'spade-like' nails. Most birds of this species have a white rump and belly. Often trails legs in the water in flight. Grallaria is Latin for 'stilts' which refers to their long legs.
Breeding: Breeds in rocky crevices and island burrows.
