Namibia is a fairly safe place for single female travellers. It is recommended to travel in groups when walking around in towns after dark, but if you practice some common sense you will have very few problems.

The distance between destinations can be quite extensive and on the gravel roads flat tyres are fairly common.  Therefore, woman are advised to take a crash course in how to exchange a tyre and basic automotive maintenance.  We also advise that you engage your vehichle in 4x4 to counter possible sliding on gravel roads.
