Namibia Self Drive Safari Namibia Car Rental

Getting To Namibia

Making your way to paradise is as simple as by air, sea or if you're adventurous, you can choose a rental vehicle from a full-range and make your self-drive safari a special holiday.

Driving Driving

Most of the land border posts close at night (notably Ngoma in the Zambezi region and Buitepos on the Trans-Kalahari), so either time yourself well or prepare to camp near the border. However the border officials tend to be friendly and efficient. The two main border posts from South Africa (Ariamsvlei & Noordower) are open 24 hours.

Bus Bus

Intercape Mainliner buses offer a service to Namibia from Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Victoria Falls.

Train Train

Namibia does not have over border trains.

Flying Flying

A number of airlines fly into and out of Namibia.

Windhoek has two airports the International Airport and the smaller Eros Airport. International flights only arrive at the International Airport (which is situated 40km outside of Windhoek) - but if you are on a regional flight it is worth making sure at which airport you will be arriving.

By Sea By Sea

Walvis Bay is the main port in Namibia.
